July 31, 2008 - 6:33am We have some more fun little waves in the waist high range coming in out of the SW, watch out for the jellies, they are back. We just got some new jellyfish sting relief stuff in called Stingmate. It really works, so come by and get some of it before you go surf. Surf should be up all day, good luck.
July 30, 2008 - 6:28am Looks like we have some waves rolling in out of the SW in the waist high range, and it looks like it will be up all day and maybe into the weekend. It is a SW swell with the buoys reading in the 2.6 ft. range, hopefully the jellies don't get pushed back in. We have a high tide at 8:19am and a low at 8:33 pm tonight. Go surf.
July 29, 2008 - 6:58am Well I missed a couple of days there, as I was moving. We really have no surf right now but the buoys S of us are starting to rise, reading in the 2 ft. range now with SSW swell direction so maybe we will get something by tomorrow. The tide is high this morning at 7:20 and will be going to a low at 7:36 pm. Enjoy the day.
July 23, 2008 - 5:50am Yes we still have waves in the waist to chest high range and it looks like it will all day. Dolly is heading on shore in Texas, but her fetch is still sending us some 4 to 5 ft. seas with a S swell direction. The marine forecast is calling for S & SW winds all day in the 10 to 15 knot range, and the swell will start changing more to the SW as the day goes by. We have a neap tide today, so there will be 2 highs one at 5:41am and the other at 12:32pm, the lows are at 10:12am and 8:31 pm. Go surf as it should be fun all day.
July 22, 2008 - 6:15am It is on like Donkey Kong. Surprise, surprise we got some swell from old Dolly. It is looking really good at 6 am this morning, with waves in the chest to head high range and no wind. Go surf as soon as possible. We have a high tide at 12:30 and then the tide will be going out the rest of the day to a low at 11:18 pm. The surf will be up all day, but the wind will be on it this afternoon out of the S in the 15 knot range. Go surf.
July 21, 2008 - 6:28am Not much surf to speak of yet, but it looks like Tropical storm Dolly is going to send us at least a little surf. The most southern bouy in the Gulf is starting to read in the 3 ft. range with a SE swell direction. Hopefully that swell will start to show up soon. This morning we just have some tiny little ankle to shin high lines rolling in. Pray for surf.
July 20, 2008 - 5:39am Still nothing yet, but we are still hopeing for some surf by Tue. It's looking like that tropical wave may not send us as much surf as we were hopeing for yesterday, but maybe we will still get something. But for today no surf again.
July 19, 2008 - 7:22am More of the same flatness, but it looks like starting on Mon. we should have a little SE swell action, and hopefully it will last all week. Just in time for Surf Camp Session #4. If you know someone interested in learning how to surf, tell them to get signed up for the Waterboyz Surf Camp, there are 2 sessions left. They take place behind the Hilton on Pensacola Beach. For today no surf.
July 18, 2008 - 7:46am It looked like we were going to see a little wave later today, but now it isn't looking so good for the surf in the near future. Looks like we may not see any surf until Tue. This is a summer time flat spell we are in and you'll just have to find something else fun to do, maybe go skate or wake skate, or ride a bike. We have a big sale on boardshorts, come by and check them out.
July 17, 2008 - 6:07am It is more lake like conditions today and looks like it will last all day. We may start to see a little wave by tomorrow afternoon, but I wouldn't bet the farm on it. Looks like a good skate day to me.
July 16, 2008 - 7:43am Looks like a lake out here today, very nice weather but no waves. Looks like the next chance for waves around here will be this weekend. Till then stay stoked, check out one of the many new surf dvd's in stock at Waterboyz.
July 15, 2008 - 6:55am Well it looks like the little bit of surf that we have been having has finally come to an end. We have NNW winds blowing what little seas we have out and away from us. Looks like we aren't going to be seeing any Southerly winds until Fri. so just enjoy the nice cool weather and go skate, or paddleboard, or wake skate.
July 14, 2008 - 6:00am The buoys are still reading some size, 3 ft. with W swell direction, but it looks like the waves are missing us. The marine forecast is calling for more W winds today and then going N on Tue. so that is not really going to help our surf. Then it looks like the winds are going to be variable the rest of the week.
July 14, 2008 - 6:00am The buoys are still reading some size, 3 ft. with W swell direction, but it looks like the waves are missing us. July 13, 2008 - 7:28am We still have a small SW swell out in the Gulf, but this morning the wind readings at the buoys are WNW which is holding the little swell off a bit. The marine forecast is calling for the winds to switch back to the SW by late morning so we should still have that same knee to thigh high swell hitting the beach today. Grab your longboard and go have some summer fun. The Blues will be flying their makeup show today also.
July 11, 2008 - 6:19am Awesome, we still have waves and it has even gotten a little bigger since yesterday. The buoys are reading 2.3 ft. with S swell direction and the marine forecast is calling for SW winds all day, so it looks like another day of fun little longboardable waves. Go surf, the Blues will be flying today. Stop by the shop and check out all the boardshorts on sale.
July 10, 2008 - 6:14am We still have a little bit of a swell left although it has gotten a little smaller we still have rideable waves in the knee high range. The buoys have dropped down into the 1.3 ft. range and the swell is starting to switch more to the SW. The marine forecast is calling for S to SW winds in the 5 to 10 knot range through Sat. so hopefully this little swell will last through Sat. Got a longboard, go surf. Need a longboard, come see Waterboyz.
July 9, 2008 - 5:53am Good news, we have more surf today, still in the knee to thigh high range with some waist high sets coming in. The buoys are reading in the 2.3 ft. range with a S swell direction and the marine forecast is calling for SE winds in the 10 knot range most of the day and then becoming S. The tide will be high at 5:20 am and the tide will be low at 6:18 pm, go surf.
July 8, 2008 - 5:09am We are finally starting to get some of the SE flow that will bring us some surf. The buoys are reading in the 2 ft. range with a SE swell direction and the marine forecast is calling for SE winds in the 10 to 15 knot range all day so we should see some knee to thigh high waves by sometime today. The tide will be high at 12:30 and will be going out to a low just after midnight.
July 7, 2008 - 7:06am Another day of small to no surf, and the marine forecast for the Gulf isn't looking like we will see any surf today. It does look like the East Coast is going to be seeing some surf soon from Bertha, so if you feel like fueling up a vehicle to make it over there you could score some surf. Here on the Gulf it is a summer flat spell, so go skate, or just chill out and cruise around on a paddleboard, or your bike, there are still plenty of fun things to do when the surf is flat.
July 6, 2008 - 7:27am Hate to say it, but yes it is flat again and maybe we will get some surf soon, but maybe you'll just have to head to the Eastcoast to catch some waves off of Bertha. We will just have to wait and see, till then enjoy the hot summer weather, and our sugar white sands.
July 5, 2008 - 6:43am Another small to basically flat day here on the Gulf of Mexico. The marine forecast is calling for E & S winds for the next couple of days, so maybe our luck will change soon. Looks like a great day to skate.
July 4, 2008 - 5:54am Happy Independence Day, the surf is still in the small range looking like ankle to shin high, with a very slight chance of building. The buoys are reading 1.3 ft. with a S swell direction. We have a high tide at 11 am and a low tide at 11 pm. Winds are forecast to be out of the S all day in the 10 knot range. Great conditions for paddleboarding. Enjoy the fireworks tonight, our shop will be closing at 7:30pm.
July 3, 2008 - 6:21am Winds are a little more on shore than yesterday morning, but the surf is still in the small shin high range. The buoys are reading 2 ft. now with a SSW swell direction, so the possibility of surf is better today. The tide is coming in to a high at 10:12 am and then cruising out to a low at 10:26 pm. Looks like a lazy summer day, stop by the shop and check out the huge boardshort & t-shirts sale.
July 2, 2008 - 6:19am The surf hasn't built yet and it will be a stretch for it to build today. We have a slight NE wind this morning that is forecast to go E and then S by this afternoon. The buoys have dropped down in the 1 ft. range, so it looks like maybe tomorrow till we see a little wave coming in. Till then check out the new "Somewhere" surf video just in by Rip Curl.
July 1, 2008 - 5:42am July is starting of with a weak day of surf. Looks like the surf has all but left us. The buoys are still reading in the 2 ft. range, but we aren't seeing any surf up here on the beach. We should see some surf by tomorrow though as the wind is forecast to switch around to the E for the rest of the week.
