Sept 28, 2008 - 7:14am Well another flat day here on the Gulf Coast, but it is awesome weather outside. The is no surf, but a great day to cruise around on your paddleboard. Also a great day for cruising the streets on a longboard. The Greater Gulf Coast Seafood Fest is going on today in downtown Pensacola. Stop by the Waterboyz shop and check out all the sales going on.
Sept 25, 2008 - 6:49am And waves still keep coming in. We have a NE wind that is holding off alot of the swell but there are still some waves making it through to the beach. The buoys are still in the 5 to 6 ft. range with a NE swell direction. The marine forecast is calling for this NE wind to switch more N, which won't help the surf much and may cause it to get smaller, but this morning there are waves in the knee to thigh high range. The tide is high at 6:50 this morning and will be going out to a low at 6:36 tonight.
Sept 24, 2008 - 7:16am Yes we have surf again this morning and it looks like it should last through the day. We have a stiff 10 to 15 knot NE wind that has kicked the seas up into the 7 ft. range with an ENE swell direction. The marine forecast is calling for NE winds all day and as long as the winds stay slightly E we will have surf. It looks to be in the waist high range with some rib high sets and fun long lefts peeling down the beach. Go surf.
Sept 23, 2008 - 7:34am We have the same little swell as yesterday, looks fun on a longboard or paddleboard. The winds are light out of the ENE and the marine forecast is calling for the same all day. The buoys are reading in the 4 to 5 ft. range, so there are seas out there, but the NE winds are holding the bigger surf off from us. It should be a fun longboard or paddleboard day so go enjoy it.
Sept 22, 2008 - 7:14am This morning we have really small waves as the wind has been blowing NE all night, and sending the waves slightly away from us. The buoys are reading in the 3 to 4 ft. range and the marine forecast is calling for the winds to switch to the E later today, so we should see the surf build as the winds clock more out of the E. It does look fun for paddleboarding right now.
Sept 21, 2008 - 8:03am We still have a little E swell rolling into the beaches in the thigh to waist high range and will hopefully build today as the buoys are on their way back up. The 115 mile buoy is now reading in the 5 ft. range with an E swell. We have slight NE winds blowing this morning but they should switch to the E today and it will be another fun day of small rideable surf. Get out and enjoy it.
Sept 20, 2008 - 7:02am The surf is still holding in the waist high range with some bigger sets at the right sandbars. We had a high tide at 1am and the tide will be low at 1:30pm and then coming back in to a high after midnight. The buoys are starting to fall but the surf should hold up all day. This morning at 9am at the Cross there will be a paddle out in rememberance of local surfer Robert "Brown" Moore III's life, who passed away recently. Come out and help us honor our fallen brother.
Sept 19, 2008 - 6:47am We have surf once again with winds out of the SE in the 10 to 15 knot range and waves in the knee to waist high range and building. The buoys 115 miles S is now reading in the 4 ft. range so look for the surf to build all day. We have a high tide at noon today. Also on this Sat. at 9am at the Cross there will be a paddle out in rememberance of local surfer Robert "Brown" Moore III's life, who passed away recently. Come out and help us honor our fallen brother.
Sept 17, 2008 - 8:33am Welcome to Flatsacola Beach Hope you caught some of the fun surf from Ike. Looks like we wont see any surf till maybe Fri. or Sat. and then it looks like it will only be minimal. Great skating weather. Good time to get all those dings fixed up also. Come by the shop as we now have 24 hr. ding repair service. Also on this Sat. at 9am at the Cross there will be a paddle out in rememberance of local surfer Robert "Brown" Moore III's life, who passed away recently. Come out and help us honor our fallen brother.
Sept 16, 2008 - 8:49am It is back to flatsville here on the Gulf Coast. Hope you caught some of the fun surf from Ike.
Sept 15, 2008 - 6:24am We still have some surf left from Ike with waves hitting the Gulf beaches in the waist to rib high range. The buoys are in the 2 to 3 ft. range and the swell is starting to show more SW in it. The marine forecast is calling for W winds all day today and then becoming more N tonight and tomorrow. Get out and catch some waves as the surf may be flat tomorrow.
Sept 14, 2008 - 7:45am The surf has gotten alot smaller overnight and we only have waves in the rib high, the buoy S of us is in the 4 ft. range and falling and the one S of Mobile is in the 6 ft. range and falling. The tide is high at 10:15 and will be low at 8 pm tonight. The winds are S at abou 10 knots and forecast to stay the same all day. Get out and catch the last of this Ike swell as it will be smaller tomorrow and maybe flat.
Sept 13, 2008 - 6:37am Still very large surf with waves in the overhead range, and winds out of the ESE in the 20 knot range. The buoys are starting to come down and the surf should start to get to a managable size by this afternoon and tomorrow. The marine forecast is calling for N winds until Mon night, but depending on how fast Ike moves to the NE, we may get the N winds before that and hopefully we will, so that we will still have some good size waves with the offshore winds.
Sept 12, 2008 - 5:49am The surf is still huge and the wind is still very stiff out of the ESE. Doesn't look like a good day for surfing on Pensacola Beach, but head E and find some better conditions. Hopefully by later this afternoon the wind and swell will start to calm down, and we should have surf through the weekend.
Sept 11, 2008 - 6:22am Ike's swell is hitting the beaches hard and heavy and it doesn't look like a good idea to paddle out on Pensacola Beach the surf is very big and very consistant. The 115 mile buoy is reading in the 24 ft. range and if you want to surf today you will have to go to the point or another inlet, I'm sure there will be a few people at Amazons today, which may be the best spot on the Gulf today.
Sept 10, 2008 - 5:50am The swell is hitting the beach right now with waves in the chest to head high range and the wind is real light out of the NE. The surf is fireing and you need to go surf. Stop reading this and go surf.
Sept 9, 2008 - 7:27am Looks like we have a small SE swell on the way but it is not here yet only a little shin high wave. The 115 mile buoy is starting to read in the 3 ft. range so maybe it will be a little bigger before dark, but hopefully we should see surf tomorrow for sure.
Sept 8, 2008 - 6:36am No surf today, looks like we won't see any surf till maybe Wed. afternoon or Thur as Ike moves into the Gulf. Get ready for some more Hurricane surf. Huge used surfboard sale going on at the shop, stop by and get one.
Sept 7, 2008 - 7:09am Well the surf is just about totally flat now, with the buoys reading less that 1 ft., it looks like we are going to have to wait until the middle of next week before we see some surf again. Ike should be sending us a swell around Wed. afternoon. Stop by the shop and check out all the used surfboards we have in stock and on sale. Also Skatechurch is tonight at 6:30pm in the skatepark.
Sept 6, 2008 - 5:50am There is still a little shin high wave rolling in along the beaches, but I don't expect it to last past today as the marine forecast is calling for NW winds for the next day or so. The buoys are still reading between 1 & 2 ft. with a WSW swell, another good day for learning to surf, especially if you get out before the wind starts blowing. Stop by the shop and check out all the used surfboards we have in stock and on sale.
Sept 5, 2008 - 9:43am The surf today is small only in the shin high range, but a very beautiful day out on the beach and a perfect day to teach someone how to surf. We had a high tide at 1:20am and we have a low tide at 1:45 pm so the tide will be coming back in the rest of the afternoon and may give us a little push. Stop by the shop and check out all the used surfboards we have in stock.
Sept 2, 2008 - 6:45am We still have some good size waves rolling in from Gustav, in the overhead range. The buoys are reading 6 to 8 ft. with ESE swell and winds out of the SE in the 15 to 20 knot range. The surf will be up all day so get out and get some.
Sept 1, 2008 - 1:28am The swell started hitting pretty good last night it will be to big for any of the beach breaks to handle, heading E to Panama City. Today is the last day of our huge Labor Day Weekend Sale, almost everything in the shop is marked down, so come score some deals.
